It is clear that Gail Weingast wasn’t always eyeing a career in medicine from the very beginning. In fact, way back in 1969, Gail Weingast attended Tufts Universityin Medford, Massachusetts, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. Obviously, becoming a doctor wasn’t an early obsession. No one could have known early on that she would even become a doctor, let alone the elite radiology professional she is these days. Something must have changed soon after, however, because she attended the Boston University School of Medicine and became Gail Weingast MD in 1976.

That was more than 40 years ago, and she has accomplished a lot since. After an exceptional education and a lot of training, Dr. Gail Weingast worked at several hospitals in Colorado and New York, before finally settling into she settled into her current position as a highly regarded radiology specialist at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut. She is now the Chief of Ultrasound and Breast Imaging at the hospital. Through more than 20 years at Backus, Dr. Gail Weingast has guided her department into its current position, which is as a premiere medical facility.
